The CRS Pitstop franchise is the result of 18 years in the Car Accessory
industry. The franchise has evolved as a result of the founder's passion
for motorcars and their related industries.
History
of CRS Pitstop
In 1985 a small sound and security company called Car Radio Specialists
cc. was opened in a small workshop in Boksburg. This store became the
largest of its type in the Boksburg area and gained a reputation for high
quality sound, security systems and installations.
The organisation grew with more stores opening and in 1994 the product
range was enhanced by the introduction of vehicle accessories i.e., steering
wheels, spoilers, cosmetic enhancement products etc. The principal change
in the product range was the introduction of the sport suspension systems.
These systems ultimately made the name CUSTOM RACING SUSPENSIONS a household
name countrywide.
It became apparent that the very specific name was not ideal for the new
look company and so in 1996 the name was shortened to CRS and because
of the extensive type of accessories carried Pitstop was added as well.
CRS PITSTOP was born.
